Employment at SCS

Student Computing Services has a wide array of employment opportunities for any major. Because SCS is student run, all positions are filled by students. Positions at SCS are similar to those of most corporations. Customer service, management, human resources, graphic design, public relations, web design, computer hardware troubleshooting, Programing, administration, and teaching are some of the positions available to students. Students are required to work one semester as a Student Technology Consultant in one of our labs before applying to other open positions. This means that after one semester students could be managing a lab, writing SCS applications, or even be hiring new employees.

Because SCS is a student run organization we put school first. Our STC’s will have one set schedule for the semester that will be made to fit around their classes. When students need time off to study or go home SCS can be very flexible and provides our employees a way of subbing out their shifts to other employees.

Once hired SCS keeps our employees up to date on the latest technology through employee development classes and training. Students will learn how to use our digital video editing equipment, make a web page, and much more.

SCS hires current students three times a year, once at the end of fall semester for the spring, once at the end of spring for next fall, and finally we hire during the summer Alive! Sessions.
